Numerical Methods area In the Center for Basic Science at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, UPB, a methodology has been implemented based on a process of observation, identification and interpretation of the phenomenon. It is part of the computer simulation of the phenomenon methodology. Theproposal methodology comes as a project approach "Troubleshooting domain coupled with fluid -structure interaction in a cardiac ventricular assist device" and the different projects presented by students of Numerical Methods course who participate inpilot-test for the methodology assessmentthrough a mini-conference academic mathematical modeling and numericalsimulation, which gave positive results. The methodology want to encourage a logical and organized scientific thinking in the students, that leads to a higher quality of teaching and learning.
