About the Journal
FOCUS AND SCOPE
"Entre Ciencia e Ingeniería" is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by the Católica de Pereira University since 2006. Its objective is to disseminate original and unpublished articles resulting from research processes. It is directed exclusively to the scientific and academic community, offering a global platform for researchers and educators to share their findings in three key areas:
- Engineering (all disciplines).
- Basic Sciences (mathematics, physics, statistics, and chemistry).
- Research in teaching (both in engineering and basic sciences).
The journal publishes scientific and technological research articles, reflection articles, and review articles, written in Spanish or English. All published articles are subject to peer review by peers or referees of recognized expertise in the subject matter. The journal does not charge any fees for submission, processing, or publication of articles.

- Publication frequency: One issue per semester and two issues per year/volume. Starting in 2020, the journal has adopted a continuous publication schedule within each semester (issue). The call for submissions for possible publication is ongoing.
RECEPTION AND EVALUATION OF ARTICLES
The journal "Entre Ciencia e Ingeniería" is aimed at the national and international academic and scientific communities, as well as the general public, interested in the development of science and engineering through the dissemination of works resulting from scientific and technological research, reflection, and review, as well as education in these areas.
Scientific and technological research articles are documents that present in detail the original results of completed research projects. The structure typically consists of four main sections: Introduction, Methodology, Results, and Conclusions.
Reflection articles: present the results of completed research, from an analytical, interpretive, or critical perspective of the author, on a specific topic, using original sources.
Review articles: They are the result of completed research that analyzes, systematizes, and integrates the results of published or unpublished research on a field of science or technology, in order to account for advances and development trends. They are characterized by a thorough bibliographic review of at least 50 references.
TYPE OF PEER REVIEW
Double-blind peer review is a process in which both the author and the reviewers remain anonymous throughout the evaluation process. It means that the reviewers are anonymous, and the author is also anonymous. This method seeks to minimize bias in the evaluation and ensure a more objective assessment of the research.
PROCESSING AND PUBLICATION COSTS
The Journal Entre Ciencia e Ingeniería does not charge submission or publication fees to authors or their institutions, nor does it make any payments to expert reviewers or associate or deputy editors. The journal is funded solely by the Católica de Pereira University.
DECLARATION OF ETHICS AND GOOD PRACTICES
The Journal Entre Ciencia e Ingeniería is governed by the international standards published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) , in order to carry out a transparent editorial process both in the process of publishing scientific articles and in the procedures related to the resolution of associated conflicts. Accordingly, the editorial team of the Journal Entre Ciencia e Ingeniería is committed to ensuring that all parties (editors, peer reviewers, and authors) comply with ethical standards at each stage of the editorial process.
