Open access/open science statement
The journal Entre Ciencia e Ingeniería of the Universidad Católica de Pereira, in coherence with the National Open Science Policy 2022-2031 of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation [1] and to the institutional Open Science Policy [2], guarantees that all articles are published under this open access policy. Open access allows research results to be freely accessible to anyone, eliminating economic or technical barriers, with the objective of "increasing access, visibility, reproducibility and usefulness of Colombian scientific, technological and innovation data, resources, products and results, expanding the formation, appropriation, institutionalization and Open Science infrastructures of the country" [1].
In addition, the implementation of this policy is made possible through the voluntary collaboration of academic reviewers, who contribute at no cost to ensure the scientific quality of publications, consistent with the principles of open access and the democratization of knowledge.
Research articles are published through the Open Journal Systems (OJS), following the principle of free access to the scientific community and the general public. Open access generates a positive impact on the visibility of research results, while also ensuring accessibility and increasing the number of citations. Users can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of articles or use them for any other lawful purpose without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author, as long as authorship is acknowledged. Due to the system's characteristics, this tool enables better control of the publication process, thereby facilitating communication and dissemination within the academic community.
The journal adheres to interoperability standards, enabling its content to be easily indexed and accessible across multiple platforms and scientific reference databases. Digital preservation of articles and related materials is also guaranteed.
The journal's publications are protected under Creative Commons Attribution/Attribution-Recognition-NonCommercial License (CC-BY-NC) to ensure the free distribution and reuse of the published content. This license permits the creation of derivative works, provided that no commercial use is made of them. The original work may not be used for commercial purposes.
