Abstract

The statistical sciences have developed several and diverse tools for its application in practical problems in different areas of the knowledge, these are applied in the businesses and in the industry.
These tools are available to be used in the permanent growth and improvement of the businesses in general and to solve industrial problems. However, there is a breach between the available tools and the ones that the industries use. So, it is essential that the professionals in the statistics area lead their efforts to diminish this breach, if it is wanted that the statistics become important for the businesses, the industry and the society in general. In this work some approaches regarding to how to cover the knowledge and statistical methods in the industries and the direct relation that must exist between the university and the industry sector are presented.
