Abstract

This text comes from the process of investigation into the influence of social representations (SR) on mathematical assessment in the development of competencies, through the dialogue established with students of 9th grade in basic education, around the question What is the assessment in mathematics?; applying the discourse content analysis, which allows closer and understanding of the relationships between woven into the categories SR, assessment and development of mathematical competencies. The article moves in a quest to provide specific factors to the transformation in mathematics formation from the perspective of developing competencies
