Abstract

The experimental investigation that refers this article was based on the comparison of two teaching methods of fractional numbers for seven grades of High School. In the results, is evident that the methodologies tested show very similar outcomes. However, relevant aspects were noticed in the students that were exposed to the educational strategy supported by the teaching material “Playing with fractional numbers”. Besides, it was observed that practices and activities proposed to work at class were made by the students with more enthusiasm. This other factor reflects the positive impact reached with the applied strategy with the learners, because it allowed them to discover and build their own knowledge, working collaboratively with their peers and teachers guide.
