By the present article it has been sought to remark some important aspects related to the problem of the public health trough a brief historical journey and its concretion for the Colombian case.
Likewise, there has been interest to reference the emergence of the economy of the health, as a new branch of the economic discipline the studies mainly the topic of the health market. And , in some lines, to point out the future of this discipline.
Finally, some investigation works about the probable correlation between the economic growth and the healt hav been remained.
