This article widely presents a reflection about the difference between pedagogy and didactics. This proposal emphasizes in the starting field of didactics of science as an emerging discipline, and as a way of getting clase to the learning settings with their specific problems. It is not possible toface thoseproblems from other disciplines; therefore, it constitutes an obiea and aparticular theoretical and methodological referent from the didactics of the science, which are articulated in the teacher, knowledge and student interrelation through the process of science teaching.
