Abstract

This work studies the phenomenon of the popular economy in the urban zones, through analysis of mixed use dutying house existing in the Área Metropolitana de Centro Occidente. It is confirmed that, in contrast to the capital economy, which objective is the accumulation, the purpose of this popular economy is the extensive reproduction of the biological and cultural life of its members. In the end, recommendations of public policies are made for advancing in the conditions of insertion of this type of economy to the global system
