Abstract

The article presents some of the results of the research project "Characterization of Technological Adaptations in Bamboo Industrialization Processes," executed by the research group "Technology and Design" of the Industrial Design Department at the UCPR.

The use of bamboo is widespread in the Colombian coffee region and has become not only a valuable economic resource but also a key element in the definition of the cultural identity of the region. The article assesses bamboo from the perspective of industrial design and highlights its value as an important component of industrial processes based on the notion of sustainable development.
