Abstract

This article assesses the current situation of science and technology in Colombia and, particularly, in Risaralda on the basis of information provided by COLCIENCIAS and the Science and Technology Observatory related to the years 2007–2009. The analysis of this data permits us to identify the developments and constraints of science, technology, and innovation in Colombia and also the key variables that influence the strengthening of productivity and competitiveness in the country and the región.
