Location processes for large shopping areas in the conurbation Pereira – Dosquebradas

Abstract

Dosquebradas, in the period 1994-2010, and its relationship with the centrality characteristics of the conurbation. The theoretical background is the Central Place Theory and its subsequent developments, beginning from the spatial interaction flows. The exercise considered some measurements of centrality for conurbation and a field work that allowed, through the application of a survey to large shopping areas, to identify the factors that have influenced the processes for the localization of these large commercial surfaces in the city of Pereira and Dosquebradas.
