In the horizon of freedom

Abstract

The Strasbourg Court sanctions the Church's autonomy in the selection of religion teachers. Last May 15, the European Court for human rights has made public, from its headquarters in Strasbourg, one of the most far-reaching judicial resolutions of its history in terms of religious freedom. In spite of the short time elapsed since the publication of the judgment, this important pronouncement by the Court has been, from the most distant corners of the European continent, acclaimed by international observatories for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, as well as by religious denominations with a significant presence in Europe
