Sanding and Stripping hand tools for making Bamboo Crafts

Abstract

The article gives account of a research project that presents an analysis of the tools used by bamboo craftsmen for the manufacturing process of its products, particularly in the stripping and sanding area, and how through industrial design, two families of objects that will enhance their work are proposed, facilitating the development of handicrafts. Preventive and corrective ergonomics is applied, in order to show that through the designed tools, the bamboo transformation process is optimized from its natural state to a craft object.
