City networks, regional cities and territoriality

Abstract

This article examines the origin and evolution of the city networks. It shows that regional cities are an expression of territorial configuration for those networks, and argues on the assumption that the coffee region is an enabling environment to advance in the formation of territorial pacts that give continuity to a more balanced territorial development, in terms of social and economic opportunities for its population
