Abstract

In this paper, conceptions and practices as constructions of political socialization experiences lived and expressed by a group of people with transgender identity in Pereira city, are addressed. A research process that allowed a dialogue between theory and experiential realities, narrated by the researched subjects, about their practices and conceptions of political socialization. As a result, evidences showed that although excelling as male or female leaders in their community, there is still a lack of knowledge of the role they play as political subjects, and have not yet achieved a full position as subjects of rights. Therefore, one of the central recommendations is the need for political education in this field.
