Crisis in the life cycle of the couple and their main implications in children and teenagers

Abstract

Family and couple’s life live different stages in an evolutional cycle. Each of them demands a change process to accommodate again for the next stage. These changes usually come with a crisis, which can be the opportunity to grow. When it is about the conjugal subsystem, one can tell it gets to overcome the crisis according to the tolls and resources that it has to face them and minimize the negative impact. With this article it is intended to do a theoretical travel through different authors that consider evolutional cycles of the couple in their crisis and the implications it can has for the children. The article offers a panorama for therapists in their need to consider the family from a systemic perspective, given the multiple micro, meso and macro factors which involve consider the family dynamics.
