La función como principio del diseño

Abstract

This article presents a view of the different ways in which artifacts are made and highlights the importance of function as an element that characterizes the physical shape of objects. These shapes emerge as a result of human beings' different experiences, resulting from their manipulation of matter and from the concretion of this matter in objects of use that interact with individuals. Regarding the evolutionary process, the paper illustrates other conceptual ideas for the development of artifacts, which, based on nature, made it possible to arrive at innovative solutions. All these changes in the creation process and in object development made possible an efficient design project in which nature as a reference always leads to permanent evolution and adaptation.
